UK construction framework calendar.
The major public sector construction frameworks, who runs them, where they are in their cycle and what each one means for a subcontractor. Last checked 25 October 2026.
Subcontractors do not usually bid for frameworks. The main contractor holds the place and brings its supply chain with it. What a framework calendar tells you is when a contractor’s supply chain is about to be built or refreshed, which is the moment a procurement team goes looking for firms in your trade and region. The supply chains guide covers what they check when they do; this page tells you when.
Since the Procurement Act 2023 came into force, frameworks can be set up as open frameworks that reopen to new entrants during their life, and public bodies publish pipeline notices for spend over £100m a year. That makes the dates below more useful than they used to be: a missed launch is no longer a four-year wait.
Twelve frameworks, where each one stands.

What to do when a framework on this list moves.
Find the appointed contractors
The operator publishes the list. Pick the ones active in your region and sectors, find their supply chain registration route, often Constructionline, and register with the same evidence your website carries.
Help a contractor you know to bid
Bidders score better with named supply chain partners, social value and local labour. A subcontractor with a case study in PQQ format and a capability statement is useful to them at this stage.
Get on the current supply chain first
Incumbents usually keep their places. Being on their list before the re-procurement means you carry across; a new entrant has to be found and verified from scratch, which is where your website is checked.
Questions this raises
Can a subcontractor bid for a framework directly?
Rarely. Most construction frameworks appoint main contractors who then procure packages from their supply chains. Some specialist frameworks, for example the enabling works lots on the Pagabo civils framework, appoint specialist contractors directly, and a larger subcontractor can bid for those.
What is an open framework?
A framework set up under the Procurement Act 2023 that reopens to new suppliers at set points during its life, rather than closing for four years at award. Operators state in the notice whether a framework is open.
How do I find out which contractors hold a framework place?
The operator publishes the appointed list on its website, usually in a user guide, and the award notice on Find a Tender lists them. The sources linked in the table go to those pages.
How often is this page updated?
Monthly, with the date shown at the top. If you know of a framework that should be here, tell us at hello@groundproof.co.uk.
